Frolicking in the Angeles National Forest on a sunny summer afternoon with Jonika. This experience was surreal, without blemish, and full of radiance; in a sense that reached deeply into me, refreshed my spirits, and sent me back to Texas a changed person.
These moments with Jonika will be forever remembered and to say she’s changed my life and went beyond the archetypal model & photographer relationship is an understatement. A genuine and timeless friendship was created in a way that I will never forget.
A friend and fellow creative of North Texas, Krystal Turner is a multi-talented mystery whom I, at times, have the pleasure of working with. These images are an assortment taken from a late spontaneous summer trek to Colorado with colleagues Brandon Lu, Sarah Harrell, and Nick Morquecho.
The first image in particular, taken atop a brooding Mount Evans crawling with fog, is one of my most treasured works. Krystal’s positioning, pose, and all of these movements were out of a dream. Her abilities to improvise no matter the conditions (these were extremely rough) are unparalleled and cannot be overstated. A natural in everything she does.
Skylar has been a dear friend of mine for several years, one of the earliest models I ever had the honors of working with to be exact. During these years we’ve experienced tremendous amounts of growth in our fields, created unforgettable memories, traveled more times than I can count, and taken images that I cannot possibly place value on.
Taken in White Sands, New Mexico. Mikayla is one of the absolute best models I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with and totally recommend if you’re wanting a model who is easy going, has poise, creativity and willingness to both listen and collaborate on ideas.
It’s always quite cruel how some of the work you are most proud of happen with talented individuals so far away. This is precisely the case with the sensational Kira Conley. These images were taken on a laid back day outside of a friend’s house in Los Angeles. Kira’s easy-going nature made the shooting process for our conceptual session an effortless task. Looking forward to the days I get to work with her once more.
Another contemporary creative from Texas, Sarah is a videographer, photographer and remarkable subject herself in front of the lens. These images were taken over the course of a few short days wandering beneath the burning Colorado summer sun.
Having met Sarah just the same day of our departure from Texas, what we were able to create with each other is nothing short of extraordinary. Her poise and resilience among harsh conditions and her free-spirited nature were contagious and inspiring in every way imaginable; a collaborative synergy that leveled any and all expectations I had going into the unplanned weekend ahead.
These memories have a place my heart that I will carry with me forever.
A dreary day with the magical Bella Tylen of Kim Dawson. Together we found ways to move around this abandoned house secluded out in the country to find a soft and beautiful glow pouring from the window to help us capture these.
Last hours of sunlight in an abandoned house with Shelby. She is a diverse talent both in front and behind the camera. She now lives in Austin, TX and is pursuing many dreams, including photography and other creative endeavors.
Taken in Grand Prairie, Texas on a Summer afternoon.
Anna Shelton is an old friend, without a doubt one of the earliest I have made in this creative field of photography. She is a gifted photographer herself, model, a beautiful mother and D&D enthusiast. At the time of these photographs she was going through a period of transformation so we decided to capture how it felt to reflect, let things go, and accept the beautiful things to come. The core of my intention with photography is expression, in it’s absence this whole thing is hollow to me. Her vulnerability and willingness to go into these emotions in front of a camera were empowering to witness and an honor to capture. I will never forget it.
Caitlin is not a self-proclaimed model, nor does she pursue these avenues of art, yet she embodies what it means to be vulnerable. Her transparency and emotion gave way to help create what I would consider some of my most raw and intimate work to date.
Each time I revisit these photos I both see and feel more than I did the last. These moments are what makes photography what it is for me.
